Union Square is the main shopping district in San Francisco. This public plaza, around 2.6-acre, is home to some of the most famous boutiques, department stores, art galleries and more; here you will find mega stores such as Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Barneys New York, upscale European designers and jewelry stores such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Ferragamo, and Tiffany among others. Not only shopping, many Grand Hotels, and small Inns are here located, as well as famous restaurants and bars.
Union Square also borders the famous Chinatown, one of the oldest and largest Chinese enclaves in the US, the Theater District, Tenderloin, the French Quarter and the Financial District. Union Square is literally in the middle of it all, and provides easy access to all top neighborhoods and attractions that San Francisco has to offer.
In Union Square, you will also encounter the historic F-Market heritage streetcar, the only Line that operates exclusively with historic equipment! Many activities and excursions either depart or stop in Union Square; you will have the chance to visit this area escorted by professional tour guides, and spend time between shopping and sightseeing.
