Come and visit the largest Asian Art Museum in the U.S. – more than 6000 years of History and Arts are here displayed. The Museum also features a delicious Restaurant Cafe-Asia where you can enjoy typical foods of these regions.
Asia. Here, more than 6000 years of Asian history and culture are represented through 17,000 artworks, including some important and rare pieces. Most objects were donated by industrialist Avery Brundage of Chicago in 1960, including the famous bronze Buddha of the ‘338 ca.
The gallery is divided into seven geographical regions: China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Himalayas and Tibet, Persia and West Asia. The works on display are regularly changed so visitors can appreciate the entire collection and all its artworks.
The ground floor is occupied mainly by traveling exhibitions. The first floor is occupied by artworks from China with clothes, porcelain, paintings; other halls feature artworks from Korea and Japan. On the second floor, you will find works from Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, Tibet and Indonesia.
