DESCRIPTION

When most people start planning their vacations to NYC, they focus mainly on activities to do in the city. However, for many travelers, a trip to the East Coast is not something common and they might want to take advantage of it and actually explore the North East and not just New York City. Yes, NYC happens to be located strategically on the Atlantic Coast to allow you to visit Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Boston in just one day.

These escorted day trips are ideal if you don't have lots of time to really do a road trip or a multi-day tour, but you still want to explore the surrounding cities and their top historic sites. We are talking about some of the most important cities in our Nation's History and they all offer so much to explore. In one day, you won't be able to do everything, but at least you will get a "taste" of what they can offer, and who knows, if you truly love them, maybe one day you can plan a more in-depth trip to those destinations.

Answering Top-asked Questions

How are these tours conducted?

These are group tours aboard buses (or minivans) and escorted by professional tour guides. They leave from Midtown Manhattan (approx. 6:30 am) and return to the same location roughly between 7 pm and 9 pm depending on traffic. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a set arrival time. Tour guides are all licensed, and they may speak up to 2  different languages.

Who should consider taking these tours?

If you don't have much time and still want to visit a different city, if you like being in a group setting and don't mind the fast pace of the tour, then these day trips may very well be the most advantageous (yes, even money-wise) way to see these cities.

What alternatives do I have?

Well, if you want something a bit more dedicated and customized, we do offer the same tours in a private format, of course, they are much more expensive, but if you are a family or a group of friends, it might actually make sense to take a look at the private option because once you divide the price per person it might not be that much more expensive.
You can also decide to simply hop on a Greyhound Bus or Amtrak Train, but then you are on your own without a Guide, so you will be responsible to research and plan the itinerary once you arrive at your destination and coordinate everything.

Can I cancel or change the date?

You have up to 4 days before the tour to either cancel for a full refund or change the date with no penalty.

I’m the biggest fan of Fall activities, but haven’t had a chance to do anything beyond Apple Picking in NJ. I decided to take a last minute 2 day trip with a friend in Hudson Valley, but didn’t know where to start [...] Thankfully I was able to use New York Welcome to do the hard work for us [...]

Irene was a FANTASTIC tour guide! She was so knowledgeable about the area and was so patient with all our questions. We stopped to use the bathroom and we got coffee halfway through, she was so kind! It was a pleasure learning about Brooklyn from you!
