First and foremost, you should choose how you are planning on traveling and establish some realistic expectations. The territory is big and it can become quite expensive to travel across the country, mainly because in the US things tend to cost more compared to let's say Europe (especially Southern Europe) with perhaps the exception of gas. Here at USA Welcome, we try to provide different ways and budgets to offer something to everyone. Whether you want to travel alone on the road on a budget, follow one of the escorted group tours, or do a special customized itinerary staying at some of the most iconic hotels and historic inns, we can help you.
First, Let's See the 2 Main Different Ways to Discover the US
1) ORGANIZED GROUP TOURS
What's an organized group tour? These are escorted group tours that depart generally once a week (depending on the season) and are performed aboard a motor-coach (or van) accompanied by a local guide who can speak up to 2 languages during the trip. They typically last from 2 to 7 days.Where will they take me? There are several itineraries. You first choose your departure city (i.e. Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, etc.) and then you will have several options to choose from. From top National Parks to the Canyons and Deserts. These tours cover much of the South, West and the Rocky Mountain regions.
Realistic Expectations? These Tours are generally well-planned but tend to be more on a faster-pace to give the possibility to see more things in a limited amount of time. They are not rushed but they are not in-depth either. You need to be willing to go along with the whole itinerary since there is no possibility to customize it. Included accommodations are in typical motels touristic category so don't expect luxury lodging. (i.e Howard Johnson, Quality Suites, Fairfield Inn, etc.)
Who should choose this kind of tour? Those of you that are not confident in traveling alone or drive for long stretches; those that don't want to spend lots of time planning ahead of their trip; those that might not be very confident speaking English and dealing with different customs; those don't mind a fast-paced tour in order to visit more things in a limited time. Lastly, these tours are only recommended to those that are okay traveling on the road with overnights in typical American Motels/Touristic Category accommodation.
